I don't understand the mindset of teachers who want to bang kids. Beyond the morality issues why would you want to sleep with someone with no experience and likely someone physically not developed like say, a 21 year old is getting to be. I nailed a teacher of mine numerous times, I sat back, took the A and the experience, and would never think of ratting myself out or her. A friend of mine was having sex with our long term English substitute teacher too, and never got caught or busted. I am still baffled as to who would even want to though. I know I was not a great lover, but it still happened, and still happens to this day all over America. I can't remember anyone in the mid 90's getting busted for it, though we all know it happened on occasion. Why is this at the forefront so often these days, or is it just sensationalized?

My K-12 school of 1200 kids, had 3 teachers fired for similar activities. One through a party and was caught grinding on some of the male students, one got fired for fucking the quarterback(who was her daughters boyfriend at the time), and another got fired for being busted in Panama City for prostitution.

no, not at all. I was 16, she was pushing 40. Actually had alot of the same interests, she was pretty decent looking. Myself being the same age as she was then I would have probably dated her if all was equal. I bet alot of kids don't feel like victims either at the time, but something is getting them all to come out about it. I am very open about it with my girlfriend and those past, they all think I should be damaged by it. But it all culminates in somehow improving my performances with them, slightly at least.

yeah, probably this is the case. There literally was no trail back in the days. She actually didn't even solicit me in class, it was at her side business she owned that I frequented and didn't realize she owned.

I don't know why either. Plus, the kid wasn't the brightest, and neither was she. But, when you go to an all boys boarding school, something is bound to happen. The problem was that he couldn't tell a lie, people are always looking for you, and an administrator found a letter.

The news gets out nationwide now. Even 10-15 years ago you didn't hear about it unless it happened locally or regionally. Now you hear about it happening in Philadelphia the day it's reported even if you life in Seattle. I suspect it happened just as much 20-30 years ago as it does now, it just wasn't national news every time back then.

Mid-90s we had one busted at my middle school. Yup, 13 year old...wtf. Even at the time I was like why? I don't remember any rumors in HS because the only younger female teacher we had was this nasty body-builder (who coincidentally was busted for supplying steroids to the basketball team later on)...all the rest were old crones.

Anywho, the lady that got busted with the middle schooler is still around the home town and is a remax agent now. I suppose, since her indiscretion/crime was prior to all news being on the internet forever she can pull it off...don't see that happening for this lady.

It makes no sense to me either. I don't dislike teenagers, but they started out unappealing and the longer I teach the more unappealing they get. I have some coworkers that regularly talk about their "favorites" and I think they're a court case waiting to happen. I had a really creepy moment when a guy who got fired for that from the high school I went to and student taught at showed up as part of an extracurricular program at my current high school. Needless to say, I did absolutely nothing to promote "his program" to any of my students.

Damn! Hate to say it but if that were a male teacher the charges would be much worse than corruption of a minor.

And let's face it. Most decent looking 16 year olds get oral and more in that part of 'Murica before their sweet 16th. While it's in appropriate for anyone in her position to take advantage of a student it's an antiquated and outdated mode of thought that keeps these puritan laws on the books.
